Good evening from Shibuya!

I have been offering strawberry daifuku in one of my classes since we opened my business. Many of my guests assume we eat ice cream mochi, but we do not really. The most popular mochi dessert is daifuku. Dai means big, and fuku means happiness.

It feels like this year might be a bit early, but Japanese strawberry season has started! So, our annual strawberry daifuku season has started in our culinary cooking class, From Market to Meal. I think it is one of the best mochi desserts that we can only make and taste during the winter season in Japan because Japanese strawberries grow in a green house during the winter. I love using white bean paste more than red beans.
